If you're reading this, it's most likely that we've played a game at the Wolverine Tap Room or that we've talked about the potential of this sport.
Here's the elevator pitch...
With your input, how about build the
MIchigan FOOSball Initiative.
I'm not trying to take over the world, but together we can own the search terms of "michigan foosball" (Currently these guys own it)
I learned the value of a pull shot when I was still too young to enter the establishments where foosball tables could be found.
I became enthralled long before anyone thought about the concept of a "professional" tournament. I believe the brand Tournament Soccer was prominent in the mid '70s and they died a swift death when Space Invaders changed the coin-op world offering a video game that required zero maintenance with 1/2 the Foor Print Value. (FPV is the sqaure footage per revenue $ per hour) By the time Asteroids was mainstream, the business model of 30 minute foosball matches, at 25 cents each, was dead.
Not long ago I realized foosball wasn't dead at all. It just wasn't all that healthy in Michigan.
How about we change that...
Let's start small: A local DIY tournament as a local micro brew. As this energy began at Wolverine Beer, maybe that's our first venue.
My point of all this, I'm looking to recruite a handful of people who want to be part of this.
In a casual effort at Wolverine, we have over 50 people who want to play. If you're reading this, it means you know the game well and understand the value of this.
Let's put Michigan on the foosball map.
